School of Medicine, Office of Medical Education has an opening for a part-time Open Rank Professor Series/LCME Faculty Accreditation Lead position.

The LCME Faculty Accreditation Lead is a faculty member with extensive knowledge of the School of Medicine and its programs. This individual manages the LCME self-study process, coordinates completion of the data collection instrument (DCI) for the preparation of the self-study, charges and supports the student committee for the independent student analysis, leads the creation of the self-study report, and develops the survey visit schedule. The LCME Faculty Accreditation Lead will be the primary point of contact with the LCME Secretariat leading up to the site visit in academic year 2024-2025.

Reporting to the Senior Associate Dean for Education, this position is responsible for the following areas:

    Regular meetings to plan and organize our self-study preparation and site review process. This includes staying current on any changing LCME accreditation standards/processes that may affect the school’s accreditation process.In conjunction with Assistant Dean of Finance and Administration in Medical Education, recruit and direct the work of staff members working on the LCME accreditation.  This may include 1 to 3 staff members with defined roles. In conjunction with the Assistant Dean of Finance and Administration in Medical Education and Director of SOM IT organize and/or supervise IT support for LCME review including: 1) a virtual work environment for the LCME committees; 2) electronic database storage and retrieval; and 3) the interface between any existing education database and the LCME web-based data-collection environment.In conjunction with the LCME staff, the Assistant Dean of Finance and Administration in Medical Education and the Director of SOM IT, organize and develop appropriate systems and processes for data collection, analysis, and report from LCME committees and educational program evaluation.In conjunction with the LCME staff in SOM, organize and develop SOM LCME continuous quality improvement efforts.Attend and participate in LCME committees, including (as deemed necessary by Senior Associate Dean for Education) attending national meetings held by AAMC for schools with upcoming site visits and/or visiting schools with recent LCME site visits, including serving as part of mock site visitor teams. In conjunction with the LCME staff, the Assistant Dean of Finance and Administration in Medical Education, and the Assistant Dean of Medical Education: Assessment, Evaluation and Outcomes (AEO), review all data for quality, accuracy, and consistency.Coordinate the work of the LCME staff to develop, prepare, review, condense, and correct or arrange written material for LCME committee/task force reports; approve final versions of these reports prior to submission to the Senior Associate Dean of Education and the Dean or the CU School of Medicine.
  • Coordinate the work of the LCME staff and SOM faculty to develop, prepare, review, condense, and correct or arrange written material for SOM self-study document, interim reports, and the final report to the LCME; approve final versions of these reports prior to submission to the Senior Associate Dean of Education and the Dean of the CU School of Medicine.
     
  • Interact frequently with leadership of the School of Medicine and the University of Colorado to present and validate work. 
Salary and Benefits:

The salary range (or hiring range) has been established at: 

Assistant Professor Salary Range:

  • $10,000 to $70,000
  • .20 FTE salary support and benefits, through June 30, 2022
  • .49 FTE salary support and benefits, July 1, 2022, through June 30, 2025
Associate Professor Salary Range:

  • $10,000 to $70,000
  • .20 FTE salary support and benefits, through June 30, 2022
  • .49 FTE salary support and benefits, July 1, 2022, through June 30, 2025
Professor Salary Range:

  • $10,000 to $70,000
  • .20 FTE salary support and benefits, through June 30, 2022
  • .49 FTE salary support and benefits, July 1, 2022, through June 30, 2025
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
