  • Successful candidates will be expected to teach at the undergraduate level, establish and sustain an outstanding research program and be involved in proposal and grant writing activities.
  • Preferred candidates for the position must hold a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science. Desired areas of interest are artificial intelligence, machine learning, and mobile applications development.
  • Faculty members should expect to be involved in department activities, student advisement, student recruitment, and mentoring students.
Qualifications
  • Applicants should have a PhD in computer science. Preference will be given to applicants with areas of specialization that complement existing faculty.
  • Applicants should have a strong commitment to teaching at a liberal arts school. Evidence of successful teaching at the college level is required.
  • A record of research and publication is desirable.
  • The candidate must be prepared to affirm and support the Christian and liberal arts mission of Bethune-Cookman University.
  • U.S. citizenship or permanent residency is required.
Salary: Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Physical Requirements:Requires some physical effort, i.e., some standing and walking, frequent light lifting (5-15 lbs.); and manual dexterity in the operation of office equipment; extensive periods of time at a keyboard; occasional hours outside the normal University schedule.
