Overview

The Manager, Account Management & Delivery Business Services & Operations Management is responsible for serving as the primary IT interface for several key Princeton University’s functional partner relationships. The Manager is accountable for managing the end-to-end delivery of IT projects and the operational maintenance, security and compliance of the application/system portfolios for these partner groups. This role also has responsibility for managing the Computerized Maintenance Management System (Maximo) and associated reporting/analytics environment for Facilities. This role is part of Facilities Information Technology (FIT), which is a unit of Facilities Finance and Administrative Services (FFAS) and provides services to Princeton’s 700+ person Facilities organization.


The Manager is expected to: Provide leadership, management, and administration to ensure effective, efficient delivery of operational support and new capabilities for these systems. Strengthen processes, secure and deploy resources, and issue resolution. Direct internal/external resources to ensure the development, maintenance, and operational effectiveness of the systems supported by the team. Serve as primary point of accountability for portfolio of systems and projects that this team supports. Work closely with key stakeholders to ensure that IT related priorities are aligned with functional partner priorities and needs.


This position leads and manages staff and works both on teams and independently, requiring only general supervision.



Responsibilities

  • Ensure end to end delivery of technical solutions and seamless operational support associated with the application and project portfolios for the following functional groups within Facilities: Office of Facilities VP-Communications, Office of Sustainability, Office of Capital Projects, the University Architects office, Facilities Finance, Procurement and Customer Service Center, Building Services, Operations/Ground & Building Maintenance.
  • Oversee the technical development and maintenance of the Facilities CMMS, Sharepoint, and reporting/analytics environments as well as other partner systems and applications. Maintain integrations with other sources of data.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor for IT and functional stakeholders and executive sponsors. Understand business needs and implement technical and process solutions that meet the needs. Develop and maintain strong relationships with functional areas and associated IT delivery partners.
  • Develop and maintain IT strategies and technology roadmaps in direct alignment with functional partner strategies and University IT framework. This includes prioritization with the business and direct management of the team (including vendors and other technical resources
  • Lead the assessment and proposal of technical solutions that meet business needs.
  • Provide project management oversight. Ensure that project management practices are followed for successful and timely delivery of solutions.
  • Clearly and concisely communicate the progress of portfolio initiatives to stakeholders and management.
  • Proactively design, explore, research and benchmark solutions.
  • Manage and develop high-performing team.
  • Effectively manage technical vendor relationships and internal IT resources. Partner with the Office of Information Technology. Provide oversight and ensure adherence to vendor service levels and associated contracts.
  • Champion department policies, procedures and methodologies and ensure compliance within the team. Acquire appropriate understanding of respective functional business areas and their relation to technology solutions.
  • Responsible for the effective operational support and management of the application portfolios associated with functional partners. Effectively manage down the TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) for the systems/portfolios that this position oversees.
  • Provide oversight and guidance to technical application support resources. Ensure the overall integrity and compliance to security standards and protocols for the portfolio of systems that this position manages.
  • Issue escalation.


Qualifications

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business Management or related/relevant field OR four years of practical and progressively responsible experience in CMMS (using Maximo) with proven proficiency in analytical thinking, technology solutioning and adoption, data reporting, integration.
  • Experience working in an Operational business/functional unit is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical mindset. Proven ability to define, influence and communicate technical direction, make decisions, to be driven and work autonomously as well as lead teams in order to ensure successful implementation of solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience in technical development, project management, process mindset and influence/change management
  • Superior interpersonal, excellent communication, collaboration skills, partnership, prioritization and organizational skills
  • Ability to respond promptly and professionally to business support and IT requests
  • Proven ability to learn new technologies beyond core area of knowledge and work with diverse partner and technology
  • Proactive approach to seeking information and ideas from peers, supervisors and members of the Princeton community
Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in an Operational business/functional unit is highly desirable.
  • Experience in the utilization of one or more higher education enterprise systems relevant to Facilities is an added plus.
