The Wellstar School of Nursing (WSON) offers BSN and MSN degrees and is one of the largest programs in Georgia. The WSON graduates more new Baccalaureate nurses than other programs in Georgia. The WSON currently employs more than 55 full-time faculty and numerous part-time faculty. A five-year plan to increase undergraduate enrollment is underway. The WSON is housed within the Wellstar College of Health and Human Services, which includes departments of Social Work and Human Services, Health Promotion and Physical Education, and Exercise Science and Sports Management as well as an Academy for Inclusive Learning and Social Growth. Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for 1 nine-month and 5 twelve-month, non-tenure track Lecturer or Clinical Assistant Professor faculty positions in the Wellstar School of Nursing, beginning August 1, 2022. Responsibilities
The position will report to the Director of the Wellstar School of Nursing. Primary teaching responsibilities will be at the undergraduate level in didactic and clinical courses. Classroom, lab, and clinical teaching may be required. There is also an expectation of service to the department, college, university, and/or professional community.
Other responsibilities might include the following:
- Program development expectations
- Recruitment expectations
- Student teaching/clinical supervision
- Working with a diverse community
A master's degree in nursing or the foreign equivalent is required for the Lecturer rank.
A terminal degree (PhD or DNP) in nursing, or the foreign equivalent, or in a related field (EdD) is required for the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor.
Candidates must have a strong depth of knowledge in adult health, community health, psychiatric/mental health, parent/child or women's health nursing, and/or skills and simulation labs. Candidates will also have a minimum of three years of clinical nursing experience, and previous experience in nursing education or serving as a preceptor for nursing students in clinical settings. Preferred Qualifications Include:
- An active RN license in Georgia or eligibility for a Georgia nursing license
- Previous teaching experience
- A commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Nurse Practitioner Certification (Acute Care, Adult Health, Family, Gerontological Pediatric, Women's Health, or Psychiatric/Mental Health).
