The Faculty of Dentistry, University of Toronto, invites applications for a full-time teaching stream position in Clinical Dentistry. The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream and will begin on July 1, 2022, or shortly thereafter.

Applicants must have a DDS/DMD degree by the time of appointment, as well as documented experience of at least one year of teaching in a field of clinical dentistry as an appointed faculty member at an accredited dental school recognized by the Commission on Dental Accreditation of Canada or the Commission on Dental Accreditation in the United States. The successful candidate must hold a current general certificate of registration with the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario at the time of the appointment and must have at least five years of experience in clinical practice.


We seek enthusiastic and innovative individuals with a demonstrated record of teaching excellence, as well as a demonstrated ability to enhance the domestic and international reputation of our programs and significantly add to the quality of the student experience. Candidates must possess a demonstrated commitment to excellent pedagogical practice, and must provide evidence of pedagogical/professional development through their application materials. Additionally, candidates must have teaching experience in restorative dentistry as well as an additional field of clinical dentistry. Demonstration of lecture preparation and delivery, curriculum development, and clinical supervision are required. Evidence of teaching excellence and a commitment to pedagogical inquiry can be demonstrated through teaching accomplishments, the teaching dossier (with required materials outlined below), awards and accolades, and conference presentations, as well as strong letters of reference from referees of high standing.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
