Job SummaryThe selected candidate will be responsible for teaching courses in the candidate's area of expertise.
ResponsibilitiesThe part-time instructor will be expected to provide supervision for literacy-based services that are being provided by graduate students from the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders which is located within the Dewar College of Education and Human Services. The part-time instructor will be expected to supervise group and individual literacy treatment for approximately 16 to 24 clients. Part-time supervisor will need to be available to supervise two days per week (Mondays/Wednesdays or Tuesdays/Thursdays) from 3-6 PM. Specific training in multisensory, structured language treatment will be provided if necessary.

Master's degree in the appropriate field
ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence
Georgia State Licensure or ability to obtain licensure

A record of mentoring students of diverse backgrounds

Conditions of EmploymentEmployment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check. Position May Require Credit Check (if using P-Card, working with Cash, etc.).
Position Requires completion of VSU's Annual Compliance Training course (such as State Business Transactions, Drug Free Workplace, Anti-Harassment Policy, Introduction to Information Security, Workers Compensation, Motor Vehicle Policy, USG Ethics Policy, Conflict of Interest/ Outside Activities Policy, Leave Procedures for Faculty and Staff, Georgia Open Records Act, Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), and Contracts 101. Supervisory positions require training in FMLA and Worker's Compensation.
