Job Summary

The School of Arts & Sciences seeks dynamic for a faculty position of Assistant Professor of Mathematics. This is an academic year (10-month contract). The contract is expected to begin August 1, 2021.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities -
-Course development and teach courses in both upper and lower division level mathematics courses including learning support mathematics courses.
-Teach 12 credit hours per semester.
-Maintain on campus office hours, preparing lesson plans, syllabi, including course objectives, lectures, and other course materials such as quizzes and exams, and submission of final grades and attendance reports.
-Some teaching online may also be required.
-Teaching both day and evening classes at the Brunswick campus or the Camden Center location, as needed.
-Engaging in professional development and scholarship activities.
-Conduct academic advisement and career counseling.
-A commitment to impact practices.
-This is considered a Position of Trust.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
-Doctoral degree in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, or closely related field from a regionally accredited institution at the time of hire.

Other Required Qualifications
-Must possess a current valid drivers license.

Required Experience
-One year of experience teaching collegiate mathematics.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Experience
-Online teaching
-A background in Applied Math/Computer Science with the ability to teach a variety courses of scientific computing and programming including, but not limited to, MatLab, Fortran, R, Java, C, C++, Python and Octave.

Proposed Salary

$53,000 annually
