Job Summary

The Grant Coordinator leads the day-to-day activities of the Children’s Trust and manages the organization, planning, and continuous reviews and analysis of the grant program. The position implements all aspects of the project deliverables and coordinates internal and external resources to support grant activities This is a temporary grant funded position. This grant position will be eligible for participation in the Florida Retirement System (FRS) after 6 consecutive months of continuous employment.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Plans grant activities, including identifying a minimum of 40 book shelf locations sites throughout Miami-Dade County, particularly in vulnerable communities, including the neighborhoods of the Miami Dade County Public Schools ETO (Education Transformation Office) and DT (District-Targeted) schools
  • Manages book donation drives to ensure adequate numbers of books are obtained on a regular basis
  • Develops relationships with corporate sponsors to obtain commitment and ongoing support
  • Broadens outreach with organizations located in vulnerable communities
  • Initiates, continues and strengthens relationships with community, business and government partners
  • Manages and oversees community partners
  • Coordinates events when applicable
  • Oversees marketing and media relationship initiatives
  • Develops incentive campaigns in the recruitment efforts for volunteers
  • Assists in the developing and writing of educational and outreach materials
  • Collects relevant data and develops reports for quality assurance
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
  • Master’s degree in education or related field with one (1) year of related experience in project/grant management; or Bachelor’s degree in education or related field with five (5) years of related experience in project/grant management
  • All degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
  • Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of project/ grant management including personnel management and reporting
  • Possess excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Knowledge and proficiency in computers, especially Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to demonstrate detail-oriented skills and have the ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative and responsibility for all aspects of grant program
  • Ability to supervise workers and volunteers in the field and ensure completion of job responsibilities
  • Ability to work with community partners to promote program
  • Ability to recruit volunteers for program participation
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw conclusions for reporting purposes
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Ability to project a positive image of the College and its programs
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to include evenings and weekends
  • Ability to work in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and staff
