Job Id: 767 # of Openings: 1 Job Overview Reporting to the BRIDGE Managing Director, the BRIDGE Coordinator coordinates school-year programming for BRIDGE’s high school and college students, prepares logistics and administrative support for summer program, provides regular student-facing contact year-round, and supports BRIDGE students and alumni enrolled at Wheaton as they pursue successful completion of a post-secondary degree. This full-time position is grant-funded and fully funded through Fall 2023. Duties and Responsibilities
  • Coordinates BRIDGE’s school-year support programming for BRIDGE high school students, including SAT/ACT classes, college application/essay writing workshops, tutoring, reunions, and mentor-mentee engagement
  • Coordinates school-year support programming for BRIDGE alumni enrolled at Wheaton. Schedules and attends orientation and support meetings between BRIDGE alumni and various campus departments, such as the Office of Multicultural Development, Center for Vocation and Career, Student Financial Services, Student Care, and Academic Advising, as well as social events for BRIDGE community
  • With the BRIDGE Managing Director, plans and executes the BRIDGE summer program
  • Serves as main point of contact for Event Services, Public Safety, and other on-campus departments to reserve event space, housing, and meal plans for the summer
  • Coordinates other program logistics such as field trips, vehicle reservations, guest speakers/facilitators, and ordering supplies
  • Coordinates registration, attendance, and other logistics for summer events such as the move-in/welcome day, the family visit day, and the program graduation
  • Serves as a point of contact for families throughout program
  • Assists with student supervision and engagement
  • Supports BRIDGE Summer Program recruitment, application, and enrollment process. Manages communications with inquiries and applicants, manages applicant files, and coordinates the interview process
  • Supports hiring process for summer program staff, including staff recruitment and managing employment applicant files and hiring documents
  • Manages program administrative tasks, including budget tracking and credit card reconciliation, maintaining accurate program records, and managing program communications (phone line, email account, mailings).

    • Bachelor’s degree required; familiarity with BRIDGE, Wheaton College and a Christian liberal arts education preferred
    • Demonstrated ability to effectively engage diverse populations - especially first-generation, low-income, and underrepresented minority students and families
    • Excellent organizational skills, including logistics and planning
    • Strong written and interpersonal communication skills
    • Ability to work independently
    • Ability to work occasional weekend and evening hours, especially in key seasons
    • Fluency in conversational Spanish and competency in written formal Spanish preferred
    Physical RequirementsThe employee is regularly required to sit, talk, or hear; frequently required to use repetitive hand motion, handle or feel, and to stand, walk, reach, bend or lift up to 25 pounds.
