Job Summary The Grant Director of STEM is responsible for the organization, management, planning, implementation, continuous review and analysis of the grant. The position provides academic leadership, serves as an integral member of the College and various campuses administrative teams, and works closely with STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) Department Chairs, Associate Deans, Deans, Campus Presidents, and all grant partners. This is a Professional Exempt Contractual (PEC) position for which an annual contract reflecting the base salary within the fiscal year (July 1st to June 30th) will be issued after ratification by Miami Dade College’s District Board of Trustees.

This is a temporary grant funded position.

This grant position will be eligible for participation in the Florida Retirement System (FRS) after 6 consecutive months of continuous employment.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Facilitates the development and implementation of all aspects of the grant
  • Oversees operations on all campus sites
  • Oversees all aspects of the project and ensures successful completion of actives and achievement of project goals and objectives
  • Manages multi-million dollar grants and meets all the reporting requirements for the Department of Education
  • Acts as the primary liaison between the College and US Department of Education
  • Collaborates with grant partners and oversees enrollment and participation in the grant activities
  • Hires, supervises, and evaluates both full-time and part-time personnel for the program
  • Serves as a liaison between the College and project consultants, focus groups, and funding agency
  • Assures that program efforts comply with the requirements of the different funding sources
  • Directs and manages budget, facilities, and equipment for the grant
  • Serves on campus and college-wide committees
  • Oversees the collection of data and develops formative and summative evaluation reports to comply with reporting requirements
  • Collaborates with external evaluator to evaluate and monitor project performance and outcomes
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
  • Master’s degree in STEM, education or related fields from a regionally accredited institution and four (4) years of educational administrative experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of grant management including budget, personnel management and reporting
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, organizational and leadership skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office software such as Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and other specific computer programs related to area of responsibility
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
  • Knowledge and understanding of a wide range of instructional systems development, training methods , techniques and formats
  • Knowledge and understanding of retention strategies, strong understanding of effective progression and completion strategies particularly for minority and/or non-traditional students
  • Ability to effectively present information to group of managers, clients, customers and the general public
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions for reporting and publishing purposes
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule which may include evening or weekend assignments
  • Ability to work well in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and staff
