Digital Learning Systems Administrator The Coastal Office of Online Learning (COOL) is seeking a friendly, team-oriented Digital Learning Systems Administrator to provide campus-wide support to our faculty, staff, and student colleagues on the many digital systems supporting our teaching and learning across the curriculum and modalities on our campus. This position is responsible for the support, development, implementation, delivery, maintenance, and reporting on various digital systems, training assets, and tools utilized across the campus community for academic and professional purposes. A colleague well-suited for this position will be a well-versed educator with a strong motivation to equip faculty, staff, and student colleagues with the best practices and solutions needed for success in the many digital systems, across any modality of learning, and will approach this position with a desire to help our campus community grow and enhance our digital learning systems, in coordination with the Senior Executive Director of Digital and Online Learning. Duties include, but are not limited to: perform system administration functions for all assigned online learning platforms (including but not limited to Moodle); perform system testing for upgrades and enhancements under the direction of the OL Director; model, promote and ensure exceptional customer service delivery to all constituents, including but not limited to, faculty, staff, students, visitors and the community at large; communicate and collaborate with critical units and academic/service departments on campus (i.e., ITS, Library, Admissions, Graduate Studies & Continuing Education, and others) on issues related to digital and online learning systems, and coordinates projects and support as required; research and test emerging digital and online learning systems and tools having future potential to help COOL realize its unit mission; research, develop, and document solutions for problems submitted on faculty and student help requests; develop user guides, how-to documents, videos, and other training and support documents; offer face-to-face and online trainings to provide training support; process usage data pertaining to the digital and online learning systems and produce data reports for the online learning director on an as-needed and scheduled basis; and perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: a bachelor’s degree in instructional design, instructional technology, educational technology, information management systems, computer technology or related field and at least one (1) year experience in relevant field (instructional or educational technology, instructional design or computer information systems) or equivalent education, training and experience is required. One (1) to three (3) years of experience as an online learning/technology systems administrator overseeing a LMS (such as Moodle) is strongly preferred. Master’s degree in education, instructional technology, online learning, instructional design, or related field is preferred. Experience supporting help-desk level callers at the faculty level, experience developing documentation or technical reports for both print and electronic distribution and experience teaching in the higher education, K12, or professional development areas are preferred. Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree instructional design, instructional technology, educational technology, information management systems, computer technology or related field. At least one (1) year experience in relevant field (instructional or educational technology, instructional design or computer information systems) or equivalent education, training and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

One to three years experience as an online learning/technology systems administrator overseeing a LMS (such as Moodle) is strongly preferred. Master’s degree in education, instructional technology, online learning, instructional design, or related field is preferred. Experience supporting help-desk level callers at the faculty level is strongly preferred. Experience developing documentation or technical reports for both print and electronic distribution is preferred. Experience teaching in the higher education, K12, or professional development areas is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Familiarity with supporting third-party educational technology tools, such as online proctoring, textbook publishers, accessibility review, and quality review of online and hybrid online courses is preferred. High level of administrative and instructional competence in Moodle or similar learning management system. Familiarity with both Windows and Apple operating systems is required. High level of expertise in desktop software environments (such as Microsoft Office Suite), web authoring tools, and other third party software to support course management system applications is expected for a successful candidate for this position. Training, helpdesk or consultative experience required. Must be highly accurate and detail oriented. Strong customer service background is a must, and any successful applicant will have a history of strong leadership as well as strong teamwork within previous workplace environments.
