Web Developer - AthleticsRegular Fulltime, Market Range 09This position serves as a web developer/designer and database manager for the Tennessee Athletics Department. Responsibilities include maintenance of UTSports.com and departmental websites, as well as development and maintenance of custom software applications. The web developer will work directly with the Associate Athletics Director - Marketing and Fan Experience to identify departmental priorities. As well as develop custom applications/utilities to streamline processes and workflows department-wide. Duties and Responsibilities:
- SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT
- Works with internal and external clients (e.g. Thornton Center, Fan Experience, Sports Medicine) on the development of web-based software solutions. Supports and extends third-party software solutions (e.g. AudienceView) for online ticketing, donations and customer relationship management.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:Education:Bachelor’s Degree in Communications/Information Services/Technology is required. Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in working in web development or related field. Previous experience working in collegiate athletics is preferred. Skills:
- Proficiency with HTML and CSS
- Proficiency with JavaScript and its use in front-end development
- Proficiency with MySQL or other relational databases
- Proficiency with RESTful API design and integrations
- Familiarity with WordPress and other CMS platforms
- Experience with Google Suite (Analytics, Tag Manager
- Creative thinker, problem solver
- Familiarity with client-side application frameworks (React) and libraries in production (preferred)
- Familiarity with PHP, NodeJS or other server-side languages (preferred)
- Familiarity with version control systems (Git), associated tools (e.g. GitHub, BitBucket) & workflows (preferred)
- Familiarity with *NIX systems (e.g. UNIX/LINUX) and command line interactions with remote hosts/servers (preferred)
- Familiarity with cloud service providers (e.g. AWS, Azure) (preferred)
- Digitally savvy with graphic design and/or digital marketing (preferred)
- Unquestioned integrity and trustworthiness.
- Adherence to University, Southeastern Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.
- Commitment to the Athletics Department and University’s mission.
- Flexible to various scheduling to include nights, weekend work and some holidays.
