Rapid Response Team Supervisor, Fs Rapid Response Department

Regular Full-time, Market Range 08

Transfer & Hauling is a unit within the Facilities Services Rapid Response Department that is responsible for all the moving of furniture and equipment, picking up surplus materials, and set-ups/ take downs for special events conducted on both the UT Knoxville and Agricultural campus. This position serves as the Supervisor of the Transfer & Hauling unit and is responsible for supervising, administering, and coordinating all transfer, hauling, set-up, and take down service functions for these campuses. This position also oversees the daily operation of the unit, including workload assignments/ progressing/ and redirection as necessary as well as performance evaluations and hiring efforts.

This position is responsible for all hiring of personnel within unit and for related personnel actions including performance evaluations, recommendations for merit or promotions, and disciplinary actions. The incumbent in this position must ensure that the work is performed as scheduled and within compliance with applicable safety standards and operating policies. This is accomplished either through providing work direction in terms of work details or by providing guidance to those assigned to work task. This position is also responsible for ensuring that personnel are properly trained to operate equipment used in the accomplishment of the work effort.



Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities;

    Candidate must have good customer relations and professional communications skills.Effective organization skills.Ability to communicate technical and safety procedures.Ability to operate different types of equipment including a fork liftAbility to lead and coach team members.Competent in basic computer skills such as, but not limited to, communication by email and recording data related to work projects.Enforce policies and procedures and apply disciplinary procedures.
Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent

Valid Tennessee Driver’s License (CDL License Preferred)

3 years of supervisory experience OR leading projects in absence of a supervisor OR oversight of contract services.
