DESCRIPTION

The Office of Research Compliance and Integrity (RCI) facilitates research, innovation and education for global excellence and is responsible for broad oversight, resources and education for the integrity and compliance issues relating to the conduct of research. The Office of Research Compliance and Integrity has oversight and responsibility for the following areas: Conflict of Interest Office, Dual Use Research of Concern, Export Control and Facility Security, Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee, Research Misconduct and Integrity, monitoring for Foreign Engagements, ClinicalTrials.gov, the Responsible Conduct of Research and Good Clinical Practices and general research compliance related issues

Under general supervision of the Research Compliance Supervisor, the RCI Data Assistant will demonstrate the highest level of professionalism, attention to detail, prioritization, sound judgment and customer service. Incumbent will provide data analytics and administrative office support to include preparation of monitoring data, inclusive of retrieving the applicable contract and/or grant data and creating the review file, downloading data from various databases and performing the initial tabulation, abstracting and reviewing data from websites, reports and databases, report and document preparation, serving as the initial contact for ClinicalTrials.gov registration, questions and problem reports, research compliance related forms processing, word processing and maintenance of paper filing and electronic system.

Incumbent must maintain confidentiality, practice discretion and is responsible for coordinating phases of work with others and for independently resolving problems based on interpretation of established University policies and procedures. Makes recommendations for improvements to departmental policy and procedures. Willingness to perform other duties as assigned.

This position may be eligible for a Hybrid flexible work arrangement, which could include a non-standard schedule, and/or the ability to work off-site part of the time.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Administrative assistant experience in an executive office environment providing administrative support for senior administrators.

  • Experience with business and communication software and work experience in the operation of computers including the use of word processing, spreadsheets, database software, electronic mail, electronic calendars, and the internet.

  • Proven ability to work accurately with detail and assist in the preparation and review of a large volume of documents rapidly and with precision under deadline pressure and variable timelines.

  • Skill in independently researching, compiling, organizing, interpreting and selecting data and materials from various sources (including online sources). Skill to organize data into forms that are easily understood and logical. Exceptional organizational skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including proven ability to exercise tact, poise, mature judgment, diplomacy, and flexibility to promote positive working relationships and job effectiveness. Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, effectively and professionally, in person and in writing, via phone and email.

  • Skill to compose, proofread, edit and finalize correspondence, memos, and reports with correct English grammar, spelling, punctuation, and usage.
