  • Email Me Similar JobsEmail Me This JobThe Development Database and Donor Services Manager plays a crucial technical role in the Alumnae & Donor Relations Department's daily operations, including gift entry and support of the annual fund, major gifts, alumnae relations, and special events. The person in this role is a master of Raiser's Edge and an expert problem solver. They have the ability to train other department employees on RE, producing easy-to-read queries/reports, maintain database integrity, and provide data analysis. Superb verbal and written communication skills as well as attention to detail and accuracy are paramount.

    Database Management & Reporting:

      Manage all aspects of Raiser's Edge database including data accuracy, updates and correctionsProduces queries, reports, lists needed for stakeholders in easy-to-read mannerCreates "dashboards" which graphically demonstrate revenue progress in real-timeProactively analyzes, interprets and synthesizes information including related services such as Blackbaud AnalyticsProvides weekly/monthly status reports on annual fund, campaign progress, and alumnae performance Maintain data integrity, clean up inconsistent data, and tune up of database performance across a wide range of data structuresManage data connections and transfers between Raiser's Edge and other external/internal systems as needed (i.e. Gravyty, Mobilcause, Thankview, etc)Maintain documentation of database structures, queries and reportsReconcile dbase information with business office and verify data is consistent and accurateResearch ways to improve efficiencies for current data management processesManage data with accuracy and timeliness due to the impact on the success of development work and stewardship/satisfaction of donors/customersLead the donor relations stewardship portion of the scholarship process in collaboration with Financial Aid and Business officeDiscretion is paramount in dealing with donor information (highly personal and confidential information) and the data manager needs to exercise judgement in appropriate accounting and reporting of information related to IRS, GAAP, and other regulatory guidelines and best-practices
    Gift Entry, Acknowledgments & Reconciliation:

      Receive and enter all gifts into database with appropriate coding; manages check, credit card, stock, and online donation processesProduces acknowledgement letters/tax receipts while checking for grammatical/typographical mistakes and knowledge of practical tax receipting protocolPossesses superior communications skills (written and oral) to communicate directly with donors and external/internal stakeholdersManages the department's hard copy and electronic donation filesGenerates pledge remindersConveys all cash, checks, and credit card donations to Business Office in a timely basisCompletes monthly reconciliation of donations with Business OfficeProvides reports and other data to the Business Office in compliance with IRS requirements
    Special Projects:

      Conduct annual Raiser's Edge NXT training of other development staffWorks with I.T. Department and other areas to help school initiatives including donor or alumnae recordsOversee the creation of briefing sheets on attendees at University events for the President and VPMiscellaneous administrative office dutiesOccasionally work evening or weekend special eventsOther duties as assigned
    Skills and Experience:

    • Related experience and education/training required, bachelor's degree a plus
    • Proficient with minimum of 2-3 years managing a donor database necessary, Raiser's Edge experience preferred
    • Strong database and Microsoft Office experience; ability to utilize online tools to conduct prospect research
    • Proven ability to exercise reasoned, independent judgment while adhering to standard practices and policies
    • Success as a self-starter
    • Understands and affirms the mission of Mount Mary University and the School Sisters of Notre Dame
    • Excellent problem-solver
    • Strong commitment to the ethical handling and management of donor and alumnae information
    • Strong analytical and organizational skills
    • Exceptional ability to multitask and prioritize projects
    • Excellent interpersonal oral and written communication skills required in order to proofread acknowledgment letters and communicate directly with donors via email or phone
    • Strong preference given to candidate with experience with prospect research and private school advancement experience

    Working Conditions:

    • Full time - 40 hours/week
    • Varying workflow; sometimes stressful with high workload times of the year
    • Complete work required within an open-office setting with possible distractions
    • Complete work required within a limited time
