The Department of Pediatrics, Section of Neurology has an opening for a full-time Associate Professor – Senior Epilepsy MD position. 

Nature of Work:

  • Clinical care of children with general neurological disorders including epilepsy in outpatient/inpatient settings.

Position Emphasis:


The duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Outpatient clinics
  • Inpatient service
  • Weekend call coverage
  • Regional/satellite outpatient clinics
  • Mentorship & education of residents/fellows
  • Interpretation of electroencephalograms and other related studies used in epilepsy
PLEASE NOTE: Candidates will be responsible for travel expenses related to the interview process and any relocation expenses, if applicable.

Salary and Benefits:

The hiring rate for this position has been established at $210,600.

The above salary rate represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the rate at the time of posting.

This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Medical Degree.
  • Board Certification and Eligibility in Neurology with a special competence in Child Neurology.
  • Board Certification and Eligibility in Clinical Epilepsy or Neurophysiology through American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology or equivalent board exam (e.g., American Board of Clinical Neurophysiology).
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Condition of Employment:

  • Must successfully pass a drug test through Children’s Hospital Colorado.
  • Must be willing and able to pass a national criminal background check.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong communication skills.
  • Broad knowledge and clinical skills in general pediatric neurology and epilepsy.
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional training and expertise in Epilepsy.
  • Interest and experience in clinical research.
  • Interest and experience in clinical trials.
  • Interest and experience in education of medical students, residents, and fellows.
