University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) is currently seeking an Accounting Clerk II to join Department of Microbiology and Immunology. The selected candidate will provide support to the Accountants and Administrator within the department. This is a PART-TIME (20 hours per week, CONTRACTUAL position. UMB was ranked one of America's Best Large Employers by Forbes Magazine (Feb 2021). BENEFITS:This CONTRACTUAL position offers a generous benefits package that includes 10 vacation days, 11 personal and holidays, 5 sick days; comprehensive health insurance and supplemental retirement options; and limited tuition remission for employees enrolled at UMB. UMB requires all faculty, staff, and students to be vaccinated against COVID-19. Exemptions for medical or religious reasons will be processed through Human Resources.   ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
• Reconciling on a monthly basis, sponsored program accounts assigned
• Re-allocating on a monthly basis, pro-card accounts assigned
• Entering financial information into the Accounting System.
• Ordering research supplies and allocating to assigned accounts in the Accounting System.
• Other functions as assigned by the administrator

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:EDUCATION: High school diploma or GED.EXPERIENCE: One year accounting clerical experience.OTHER: Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:Working knowledge of bookkeeping principles, mathematical methods and techniques. Skill in performing basic mathematical computations; in the use of calculators. Ability to communicate effectively; to operate keyboards, personal computers and financial software, manual and automated office equipment; to prepare written records and reports; to input data.Based on the duties of this position, selected candidates are not eligible to participate in the Bargaining Unit (Union). Salary Range: $32,812 - $38,000 annualized ($15.77/hr. - $18.27/hr.) UMB is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
