    Purpose

    The University Compliance/Title IX Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that the University is in consistent compliance with all laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures and reports to the University's General Counsel. A major responsibility of this position will be to serve as the University's Title IX Coordinator. This position will be responsible for monitoring University-wide compliance functions, inclusive of recommending appropriate policies to respond to requirements of international, federal, and state regulatory requirements, and compliance best practices. As Title IX Coordinator, the position is responsible for ensuring the institution is in compliance with Title IX and related regulatory requirements, through the provision of training and prevention efforts, policy development, and ensuring resolutions are in compliance with institutional policies and regulatory requirements. This role will work collectively with Deputy Title IX Coordinators in Student Affairs, Athletics and Employee Services to ensure compliance.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Work with campus departments to ensure policies, processes and procedures are in compliance with all applicable international, federal, state and local laws, as well as any governing bodies. Monitor, interpret and assess requirements, rules and regulations set by multiple governing bodies.
    • Serve as the Title IX Coordinator, the campus official with primary responsibility for insuring institutional compliance with Title IX laws and regulations, inclusive of effective, equitable investigation and timely resolution of all complaints of sexual violence and sex/gender discrimination. Work collectively with Deputy Title IX Coordinators to ensure the proper intake and resolution of reports of misconduct.
    • Provide oversight and support for ADA, OSHA compliance, NCAA Athletic compliance (inclusive of concussion management, gender equity, etc.) as well as other federal, state and local compliance requirements.
    • In conjunction with appropriate offices, ensure the delivery of community-wide education on a variety of topics including workplace safety, harassment, Title IX, Clery Act, OSHA compliance, bloodborne pathogens, EPA compliance, ADAAA, FERPA, etc. Ensure that compliance activities across the organization meet and exceed all regulatory requirements; periodically report to executive staff regarding the effectiveness of compliance programs.
    • Update and maintain compliance matrix and monitoring system, including ongoing research required to maintain current and future requirements.
    • Provide oversight and training for all matters involving events and programs that include minor aged participants.
    • Manage the University's compliance/whistleblowing reporting system and refer compliance problems/concerns to the appropriate institution resources for investigation and resolution in coordination with General Counsel.
    • Ensure timely reporting to University insurance providers for all relevant matters and maintain timely claims and incident data within internal systems and dashboards for the purpose of risk identification and mitigation.
    • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university
    • Three years professional experience within an academic institution and direct experience with compliance and Title IX matters
    • A demonstrated knowledge of Title IX and related laws, including but not limited to VAWA, Clery Act, and FERPA
    • Knowledge of risk management and liability issues affecting higher education

    Preferred Qualifications

    • JD or a Master's degree with a concentration in higher education, business administration, student development, counseling or a related field strongly preferred
    • Experience working with compliance-related topics in a University or state or federal government setting, such as federal research and environmental, health and safety regulations as well as other regulations regarding the operation of non-profit organizations
    • Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP) Credentials
    • Certification and/or training from ATIXA (Association of Title IX Administrators) or similar is a plus
