Position Summary

This position will advise all students who express interest in learning more about or intention to enroll in a School of Accountancy program, help recruit students the degree programs, and work closely with each student to plan a degree program according to the students area of interest and professional goals. The position will also interact with faculty, University staff, employers, CPA licensing authorities and others on behalf of students and graduates of the Schools programs.

Primary responsibilities of this position focus on welcoming students to the Schools programs, orienting their experience, planning their academic journey, developing course plans, designing co-curricular and extra-curricular experiences, tracking student progress, supporting the awarding of scholarships and financial aid, managing enrollment through course forecasting and scheduling, supporting academic assessment, designing academic recovery plans, maintaining student records, performing graduation checks, helping students navigate licensing requirements for their intended state of residence, and collaborating with career services to assist in job placement.

The position will also create, market, and implement extra- and co-curricular events; disseminate information to students; and, gather information from students and alumni for reporting purposes. The position will also support alumni requests for assistance with CPA licensing needs. The position will also support Beta Alpha Psi, a student organization that focuses on professional development of its members.

This position will also assist with the creation and maintenance of staff procedural manuals, program marketing and support materials, student tracking systems, and other needs of the School.

Within the academic framework, additional processes include enforcing federal policies with respect to regional accreditation, student privacy, international student status regulations, graduation records, university catalog/bulletin standards; AACSB policies as they pertain to accreditation and curricular compliance; authority with adherence to university policies concerning School catalog/bulletin responsibilities, curricular changes, graduation reviews, course substitutions, domestic and study abroad transfer credit evaluation, academic deficiency notifications, deadlines, extensions, petitions to various academic units, and other procedural activities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree from a regionally accredited university.
  • 2-4 years professional relationship management experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters degree in accounting or an associated discipline.
  • Experience in managing the student or early professional life-cycle.
  • 3+ years of academic or professional advising and/or student services experience.
  • Proven record of development and deployment of innovative and effective student services initiates based on industry best practices.

Work Schedule
Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Salary Grade Number:
The salary grade for the position is 7.

Salary Range:
The salary range for this position is $45,000 - $50,000.

The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, but not based on a candidates sex or any other protected status.
