The Betty Foy Sanders Department of Art in the College of Arts and Humanities invites applications and nominations for the position of tenure track Assistant Professor of Art/ Graphic Design for the 2022-2023 academic year.

designers, artists, scholars, and a diverse exhibition schedule in our state-of-the-art Center for Art and Theatre galleries. Reporting to the Chair of the Betty Foy Sanders Department of Art, the assistant professor of Art teaching in the Graphic Design program requires teaching entry and advanced courses in Graphic Design and/or Animation. All tenure track positions in the BFSDoArt teach a 3/3 load, are a team players and carry their load in service and have active research. Assistant professors have an expectation to hold office hours on campus and will attend all area and departmental meetings. This position is a tenure track, academic year (10-month) position, and the salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. Required Qualifications: Earned MFA in Graphic Design, or a closely related field, by August 1, 2022.
Ability to teach all levels of graphic design
Experience with various aspects of interaction Design (IxD) including web design, user interface design, and user experience design (UI/UX)
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud applications in both Macintosh and Windows operating systems.
Willingness to engage with institutional student success initiatives.
Commitment to engaging with best practice initiatives in instruction and pedagogy, mentoring, and curriculum design and development.
Demonstrated commitment to advancing a strong and growing research and scholarship agenda and the production of research/creative activities as appropriate to the discipline.
Experience with augmented reality, and virtual reality (AR/VR)
Experience with information design and data visualization
Demonstrated multi-disciplinary approach
Graphic design industry experience
Proficiency in ToonBoom Harmony, Autodesk Maya, Adobe Substance, and ZBrushCore/Blender
Ability to teach beginning levels of animation
Conditions of Employment:
Must be authorized to work in the United States for the duration of employment without assistance from the institution.

Faculty are expected to contribute to the vibrant university community by engaging students, participating in events, and performing other responsibilities on-campus
