Job Summary/Basic Function::

Everett Community College is building a pool of instructors to teach in a variety of nursing courses in classroom and clinical settings.

We are seeking individuals with a passion for nursing and teaching who can participate with clinical agencies and community partners to provide learning experiences for students and to model the role of the professional nurse for students.

Instructors will advise prospective and current students and participate in nursing faculty activities to develop, implement and evaluate nursing program policies, curriculum and instruction.

Candidates must be able to communicate effectively in oral and written English in the classroom and with other professionals, and be able to effectively interact with colleagues, staff, students, and administrators.

Opportunities exist for flexible schedules, continuing education, and compensated professional development and curriculum development.

Minimum Qualifications::

1) Bachelor’s Degree with a major in Nursing from an accredited institution;

2) Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the state of Washington or the ability to obtain a license by date of hire;

3) Evidence of nursing practice within the past three years (in a practice arena which is similar to that in which the students will be learning).

Preferred Qualifications::

1) Master’s Degree with a major in Nursing from an accredited institution;

2) Documented successful teaching experience in nursing at the higher education level in a practice arena similar to the clinical learning environment for the course in which the instructor will be placed;

3) Experience with team-centered work groups;

4) Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations in the clinical arena and in the higher education environment;

5) A philosophy of education appropriate to, and familiarity with, the community college setting.
