Job Summary/Basic Function::

Everett Community College is seeking to build a pool of qualified instructors to teach chemistry. Applicants will be contacted as employment opportunities arise. Responsibilities include:

- Prepare and teach Introductory and General Chemistry courses. Some evening or off-campus assignments may be required.
- Facilitate student learning by using a variety of lecture, discussion, laboratory, demonstration, field, technology-based, distance-learning, and collaborative formats.
- Identify and implement procedures/techniques to assess individual student learning

Minimum Qualifications::

- Master’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Education or a related field
- Demonstrated experience, and/or classroom strategies for, effectively instructing students from diverse backgrounds including differences in culture, heritage, ethnicity, age, gender, sexual orientation, ability, class, and religion

Preferred Qualifications::

- Documented excellence in teaching Introductory and General Chemistry as evidenced by student, supervisor, and/or peer evaluations
- Experience in using a variety of different teaching modalities (e.g. lecture, discussion group activities, collaborative learning, online learning)
- A philosophy of education appropriate to a learning-centered community college
