Job Summary/Basic Function::

Everett Community College is seeking applicants to teach Nutrition classes on campus for Winter 2022. Additional quarters may be available depending on enrollment.

This position reports to the Dean of STEM and Health Professions. Responsibilities include:
- Prepare and teach college-level Basic Principles of Nutrition courses (NUTR& 101); topics include guidelines for a healthy diet; nutrient functions and corresponding food sources; deficiency diseases and toxicity concerns; digestion, absorption, and metabolism of nutrients and the role of nutrition in physiological growth and development; maintenance of optimal health and fitness; and chronic disease prevention.
- Facilitate student learning by using a variety of classroom activities including collaborative formats, discussion, lecture, demonstration, online, and technology-based techniques.
- Identify and implement procedures/techniques to assess individual student learning, as well as achievement of course, program, and college learning outcomes.
- Prepare course materials including classroom activities, lecture notes, and exams.

Minimum Qualifications::

- Demonstrated ability to teach college-level nutrition courses
- Demonstrated experience, and/or classroom strategies for, effectively instructing students from diverse backgrounds including differences in race, color, religious belief, sex, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national or ethnic origin, disability, genetic information, veteran status, and age.

Preferred Qualifications::

- Current Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential issued by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
- Master’s degree in nutrition or a related field
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching of college-level nutrition courses
- Ability to apply modern educational pedagogy and technology for classroom presentation, online education, and computer-based instruction
- Experience in teaching in an online environment (e.g., Canvas or Blackboard)
