Assistant Professor (Tenure Track), Computer Science – Augustana College, Rock Island, Illinois, invites applications for a Tenure-Track, Assistant Professor position in Computer Science in the Mathematics and Computer Science department beginning August of the 2021-2022 academic year. Augustana College is a selective private liberal arts and sciences college of approximately 2,500 students, including 26 percent first generation college students, 23 percent Pell Grant students, 24 percent students of color, and 12 percent international students. Our beautifully wooded and largely residential campus is located in Rock Island, IL, a diverse Illinois-Iowa quad Cities metropolitan area along the Mississippi River with 400,000 residents about three hours west of Chicago. A PhD in Computer Science or a related discipline is required at or near the time of appointment. Applicants should be interested in teaching a broad range of undergraduate CS courses. Faculty are evaluated based on evidence of teaching effectiveness, participation in scholarship and service to the college community.
