Position Summary
University Information Services (UIS) provides IT services and enterprise applications to the University of Colorado (CU) campuses and the Office of the President. UIS is committed to excellence in customer service and technical expertise. Through the development of enterprise applications, UIS supports the University as a whole with systems used by students, faculty, human resources employees, finance employees, and others. 

The Web Marketing Analyst will be part of a dynamic team working toward building and implementing a strategic, constituent centric, and technology forward experience through system wide online education initiatives. To achieve this, CU is aggressively growing capacity in a Salesforce enabled ecosystem which includes Marketing Cloud and Pardot. The Web Marketing Analyst will provide data analytics expertise to drive decision making. 

CU’s Web Marketing Analyst will play a hands-on role in the ongoing data maintenance of the platform while helping to provide insights to online marketing programs. 

This person will provide expertise in campaign management, student pipeline analysis and will manage data between Marketing Cloud, Pardot and Salesforce. This position will support the data quality and outreach for digital communications for system-level communications.

The Web Marketing Cloud Specialist is responsible for maintaining the integration between multiple Salesforce orgs and Marketing Cloud and Pardot. This position will build Marketing Cloud Journeys and Pardot engagement following design and process guidance in collaboration with CU subject matter experts on all campuses. This positiion will also develop and create responsive, best-in-class email templates for CU business units. 

This position reports to the Assistant Director of CRM and is exempt from the State of Colorado Classified Staff system.

Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to: 

Maintain Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Pardot Integrations

  • Contribute to data improvement projects within our Salesforce ecosystem 
  • Provide real-time support for issues relating to Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Pardot and other supported platforms 
  • Support change management (release) process to develop and implement new applications and update existing applications 
  • Ensure technology alignment with the overall enterprise-wide CRM roadmap, prioritize business objectives and other CU systems 
  • Execute development and advanced configuration activities within the Marketing Cloud and Pardot platforms
  • Validate solution components and provides training for internal staff when appropriate 
  • Manage email deliverability, database hygiene, subscription management and compliance with global opt-in laws and regulations 
  • Oversee new data in Marketing Cloud and Pardot and advise on data use for targeting, configuration strategy and reporting
  • Structure and implement marketing tests to drive optimization (e.g., test creative, copy, audience segments, triggers, etc.) 
  • Play a lead role in usability and accessibility testing for templates 
  • Develop and maintain email templates within Marketing Cloud and Pardot in partnership with customers
  • Support CU’s existing email preference management model while working to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Facilitate the creation and execution of campaigns and journeys in partnership with customers
  • Create and maintain Automations / Data Extensions and connector data transfer processes in Marketing Cloud and Pardot
  • Work with Salesforce, support vendors and internal technical staff to troubleshoot and apply new features, upgrades and patches 
  • Identify areas of improvement and make actionable recommendations to increase operational efficiency and user adoption 
Create and Execute Campaigns and Journeys

  • Create and maintain automations that utilize multiple data sources for campaigns
  • Create and maintain Data Extensions for marketing automation needs 
  • Design business solutions on the marketing platform based on business needs 
  • Facilitate development and maintain marketing automation integration with a digital experience 
  • Manage and analyze data views and reports in Marketing Cloud that will drive further optimization for email performance 
  • Maintain users, profiles, roles, and permissions 
  • Document all system processes, future enhancements and training guides as needed 
  • Stay current on release notes and communicate any new features or changes to the organization 
Lead Architecture/Design Discussions around the Salesforce Marketing Cloud Environment

  • Identify areas in the business where processes can be automated/simplified using the Salesforce Marketing Cloud digital platform, such as Distributed Marketing
  • Build the technology solutions for supporting data-driven marketing initiatives utilizing Marketing Cloud, performing activities such as audience selection, trigger qualification, suppressions, segmentation, building journeys, etc. 
  • Develop work effort estimates for implementation and present these solutions to team 
  • Pan for future Salesforce Marketing Cloud growth at CU, including Einstein AI, Social Studio, Mobile Studio, Interaction Studio, Advertising Studio, Web Studio, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned
Who we are: System Administration, which also houses the Office of the President, is located in the uptown neighborhood of Denver with a few smaller offices located on the campuses.  However, this position has the ability to work remotely.  Many of our departments support the educational and research missions of the four University of Colorado campuses, but System Administration is not considered a campus. What we offer:

Salary: The anticipated hiring salary range has been established at $67,000 - $70,000.

The market salary range for this position is $63,000 - $87,000.

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range (or anticipated hiring salary range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree from and accredited institution of higher education, or equivalent professional experience (professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis)
  • One (1) year experience in Salesforce ExactTarget/Marketing Cloud or Pardot Technical Admin or related marketing automation experience
  • Marketing Cloud Email Specialist certification or willingness to obtain it within the first six (6) months of employment
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in communication, information technology, or similar field.
  • Experience with SQL queries and AMPScript
  • Experience with HTML, CSS and Javascript
  • Marketing Cloud Consultant certification
  • Experience documenting customer problems and software solutions using BRDs, wireframes, diagrams, workflows and mockups
  • Experience and knowledge of email marketing best practices
  • Experience working with large data sets
  • Experience with Salesforce CRM
  • Proven experience with vendor management 
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of Agile methodologies
