Departmental Objective:

Facilities Management is responsible for maintaining campus buildings utilizing the carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC trades as well as housekeeping and floor maintenance.

Purpose of the Position:

This position will assist the licensed Electricians in the repair of electrical systems with emphasis on performing preventative maintenance on all systems. Additionally, it will look for and report any unsafe conditions to the Supervisor and perform all work in a safe and conscientious manner. This position performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (KSA's) and/or Competencies required and preferred:

Required:

Knowledge of the use of tools associated with the Electrical trade

Demonstrated ability to follow oral and written instructions

Ability to keep adequate records

Proficient in computer applications

Ability to be on-call on a rotational basis

Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification Required :

Education Required:

High school diploma or equivalent. Valid driver’s license.

Experience Required:

Experience in minor electrical repair

Knowledge of basic electrical terms and systems

Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification Preferred :

Education Preferred:

Currently enrolled in or recently completed an electrical training program

General knowledge of NFPA 70

Experience Preferred:

Experience working in a college, university, or K-12 setting

Experience operating various types of equipment to include: trencher, man lift, boom lift, and scissor type lift

Utility locating experience

Salary Information:

Starting at $27,040 Commensurate with Education and Experience
