The School of Human Ecology in the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences invites applications and nominations for the position of tenure-track Assistant Professor of Recreation.

Within this setting, the Recreation and Tourism Management program consists of three full time faculty members teaching content in two emphasis areas: Outdoor Recreation and Tourism and Community Leisure Services. The program offers a Bachelor of Science in Recreation, an Interdisciplinary Certificate in Hospitality and Tourism Management, an Accelerated Bachelor's to Master's in Public Administration (MPA), and a minor in Recreation & Tourism Management. The program has been continuously accredited by the Council on Accreditation for Parks, Recreation, Tourism and Related Professions (COAPRT) since 1983.
Position Description. Reporting to the School Chair, the Assistant Professor of Recreation will support and contribute to the Recreation and Tourism Management undergraduate degree program within the School of Human Ecology. The ability to contribute to major core course offerings while enhancing and expanding curriculum within tourism and event management, youth development, or intersections between recreation and public health is preferred. Candidates with expertise in other areas of the field will also be considered. Responsibilities for the position include teaching undergraduate courses, engagement in scholarly and creative activities, and active participation in university and professional service. The position is a 10-month, tenure-track appointment, and the salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
