Basic Function:

Provide analysis, design, and programming support for enterprise applications including but not limited to Oracle-based Ellucian Banner ERP.

Essential Job Functions:

Analysis: Analyze and identify user needs and develop and implement effective solutions to meet user requirements. Maintain current knowledge of the features of the Banner software and Denison modifications, and evaluate user needs in relationship to the features provided in the current Denison software set to be able to recommend Banner features and identify gaps requiring other software. Identify techniques which will improve productivity for the user community;
Software Development and Maintenance: Responsible for designing effective solutions that may be based on either purchased software or Denison developed software. Develop administrative applications and identify areas amenable for system enhancements; design, write, test, and document new applications and features; develop database triggers, functions, and procedures as needed, and implement purchased solutions where appropriate. Maintain software functionality: provide database maintenance; install, test, and implement vendor upgrades and patches; maintain Denison modifications.
Data Exports: Utilizing strong working knowledge of the ERP database tables, ERP functionality and related applications create often complex SQL queries to assist Denison ERP user community reporting needs by performing direct data pulls from intended systems.
Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot user issues with Enterprise software, reconcile users’ data and processing problems and coordinate inter-office projects and data dependency issues. Resolve issues to the satisfaction of the requestor.
Process Improvement: Assist with developing and implementing best practices, standards and guidelines for documentation, programming, operations and project management. Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements in daily operations and present possible solutions to peers.
Documentation: Create and maintain documentation for all projects and tasks. Documentation types will include technical, end user, operational, programming level and training for peers. Explore opportunities for enhancing documentation storage and accessibility; standards and guidelines
Performs related work as required or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate degree and two years of work related experience. Must be familiar with database concepts, SQL, and on-line software applications.

Experience and conceptual understanding of the project life cycle process.
Ability to handle multiple tasks under the pressure of tight deadlines; ability to work and learn independently; good communication skills; apply sound project management processes toward all tasks; display initiative and self- motivation.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Experience with Higher Ed ERP solutions: (Ellucian’s Banner, Datatel or PowerCampus; PeopleSoft, or WorkDay).
Two years of work related experience with SQL and PL/SQL. Experience with IBM Cognos, Ellucian/Banner software, data warehousing, Linux, and Oracle technologies. (Individuals with deep functional Banner experience that lack the preferred technical skills will also be considered.)

Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move various objects.
