Non-tenure Track Faculty Position in Finance/Real Estate

The Department of Finance at the Miami Herbert Business School is seeking a candidate for a faculty position starting in August 2022. This is a non-tenure track position. Depending upon the qualifications, the initial appointment will be as Assistant/Associate Professor of Professional Practice.

A Ph.D. is required in Finance/Real-Estate or a related field. The ideal applicant should have an outstanding teaching record. Additionally, the candidate should have some combination of research publications and industry experience. The primary goal for Professional Practice faculty member is excellence in teaching. Their input into the development of innovative curricula and their help in effectively translating practice into pedagogy is key in making our course offerings relevant for our students. As with the Regular Faculty, we expect excellence in the classroom, rigor in the materials used, and general practices that are consistent across all required sections. We seek candidates whose research and teaching interests complement and strengthen our existing departmental strengths. Responsibilities include teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels and other contributing activities. Other contributing activities may be in the form of research, community engagement, University service, or some combination of those. The teaching load is typically six courses per academic year. Service activities within the department and/or School are also to be expected. Salary and research funding are competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.

ABOUT THE MIAMI BUSINESS SCHOOL: The Miami Herbert Business School is a comprehensive business school, offering undergraduate business, full-time MBA, Executive MBA, MS, PhD and non-degree executive education programs. It is one of 12 colleges and schools at the University of Miami, which is located in residential Coral Gables, Florida. The University is part of a major hub of international trade and commerce, and acclaimed for its global orientation and the diversity of its faculty, students, and curriculum.

ABOUT THE FINANCE DEPARTMENT: The Department of Finance faculty are actively engaged in research, and in recent years, members of our department have published their research in top journals in finance, economics, real estate, accounting, and management. Department members are also active in the editorial process of numerous journals. The department maintains an active seminar series and an internal brown bag series, and hosts the annual Miami Behavioral Finance Conference. We have strong Ph.D. program in Finance.
