Description
The Technical Marketing and Visual Design Strategist will create communication/marketing resources to educate and inform the University community about technology resources at Temple University. They oversee and strategize the department's social media presence, create and manage the department's web/print materials, and provide writing, editorial, graphic design and communication/marketing support services to groups within Temple University Information Technology Services and across the university. Take responsibility to manage and monitor University-wide communication projects on major technical initiatives and resources. Access, organize and keep track of the Visual Design & Communication group’s projects.  Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, English, Communication, Journalism, Technical Communication, Public Relations, Graphic Design or related field. At least three (3) years of related technical marketing experience. Expert-level sense of design and visual communication skills. Demonstrated experience and an expert at project plan creation and management for large scale projects and the ability to meet deadlines. Expert in Adobe Creative Cloud applications (i.e. Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere). An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Required Skills & Abilities:
* Superior creative, design and writing skills; experience analyzing and structuring information from technical staff and translating it for a non-technical audience.  
* Proficiency in project management tools (i.e. Microsoft Planner and Teams, Trello, Monday).  
* Working knowledge of technical systems and applications, social media, familiarity with webpage creation and design; understanding of writing for the web and basic knowledge of HTML/CSS.  
* High attention to detail, organizational and analytical skills and ability to research advanced topics.   
* Excellent verbal and written communications skills – ability to interact with groups of people and gather information, table at large events and lead projects with a number of components.  
* Advanced proficiency with Microsoft 365 suite and applications.

* Ability to work independently and also as a team player.  
* Ability to mentor and train new staff, student workers and interns.  
* Ability to anticipate issues and find and implement creative solutions when needed.
* An understanding of institutional culture and ability to establish relationships with departments.  
* Ability to manage/communicate customer expectations skillfully. 
* Ability to hold crucial conversations and escalations.  

Preferred:
* Expertise in editing and post-production of videos.
* Master’s degree.
* Experience and ability to ensure quality of projects through a variety of ways, such as monitoring analytics, conducting focus groups with audiences, testing systems and documentation.  

Please note this position will temporarily work remotely, the duration of remote work will be at the discretion of Temple University and the department.
