Description: The Senior Program Coordinator is responsible for administrative support for the Director of the Biological Design Center. The BDC is a multi-investigator research center consisting of a broad mix of engineers, biologists, physicists, and software engineers. Thier breadth of expertise spans from automation and modeling to synthetic biology and microbial engineering. These forward-thinking scientists are combining genomic technologies such as DNA sequencing and synthesis, 3-D printing, and robotics to make new molecules, tissues, organisms, and microbial communities.

Essential functions Include:

Support for the BDC Director: Keeping calendar, coordinate travel, maintain biographical data, drafting letters, filling forms, organizing databases, handle mail, organize phone and email messages and contact lists, respond to inquiries.

BDC Event Planning: create itineraries, schedule venues, coordinate facilities, IT and media services support, for seminars, symposiums, faculty searches and meetings. Purchasing and Reimbursements: purchase supplies to support the BDC Offices, process reimbursements for BDC personnel. Administrative support for the Biological Design Center and Executive Director. Maintain CVs, updating websites and social media accounts, provide support in the production of marketing materials. Carry out emerging special projects that will be required for developing and sustaining excellent programs.

Required Skills
  • Associate Degree is required and B.A. /B.S.
  • Preferred and one to three years of relevant experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, including ability to write well and to effectively and diplomatically handle various constituencies
  • Organization, attention to detail, multitasking and excellent interpersonal skills are required.
  • Should be familiar with Microsoft Office Suite and general office administration.
  • Some ability to work remotely and flexible hours are available.
