The Grant Writer/Coordinator will oversee grant writing, application, and management with partners of the Kummer Center for STEM Education. The grant writer will also support in coordinating K-12 school districts and relevant entities on campus including STEM departments as related to grants. The Grant Writer/Coordinator will oversee coordination of events and services related to the grants, in addition to acting as an external program evaluator on other grants, as applicable.
The grant writer position duties shall also include:
- Identification of new funding sources in addition to developing funding resources for existing and proposed programs and/or services
- Preparation and submission of grant applications with stakeholder feedback including writing, collaborating, and coordinating the grant writing process
- Creation, revision, or location of assessment instruments for evaluation of grant and STEM Center activities
- Completion of required reports and evaluations for existing grants, including fiscal responsibilities such as development of budgets and other financial documentation
About the Organization:
The Kummer Center for STEM Education is a new center focused entirely on providing opportunity and access to K-12 students in STEM fields. The Kummer Center for STEM Education’s goals are to lead and coordinate outreach initiatives (K-12) that leverage S&T’s expertise to improve educational experiences for students and instructional experiences for teachers in school districts in south-central Missouri; and to lead and coordinate efforts on S&T's campus to improve learning and teaching experiences in STEM disciplines. The Center will serve K-12 students and teachers primarily in the rural schools of south-central Missouri, aligned with the vision of the Kummer Institute. This is a fast-paced, ever changing environment full of opportunities.

- Experience maintaining records in database systems
- Ability to remain flexible and prioritize changing demands
- A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience, and at least 4 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
- Three years of grant writing experience is preferred
- Master’s Degree
- Educator credential
- Experience submitting grants
- Program evaluation training
