POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the general supervision from the Director of Student Health & Wellness and the Sr Director of Operations & Administration will serve as a resource for students, faculty and staff in communicating and enforcing information specific to COVID-19 related safety practices and protocols at the New York Film Academy (NYFA).

REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following responsibilities are general duties that a particular employee in this position may or may not be required to perform. The day-to-day duties required of this position may vary.

  • Serve as first point-of-contact and response for COVID-19 safety and compliance with diagnostic testing protocols, COVID-19 vaccination mandate, travel guidelines, self isolation/self quarantine requirements, mask mandates, and other preventive measures designed to mitigate infection transmission.
  • Review, monitor and update data (COVID-19 symptoms, vaccination status, completion of mandatory health and safety training, history of exposure/travel ) collected through the NYFA COVID Symptom Tracker Web App, and evaluate data for concerning trends of transmission.
  • Enforce NYFA policies and procedures in accordance with the COVID Safety Plan.
  • Perform Contact Tracing in compliance with CDC guidelines and all privacy laws.
  • Respond to student and employee reports of symptoms and positive COVID-19 test results; provide clear directives, via phone contact and email, and offer empathy and support to students and employees required to self-quarantine and self-isolate.
  • Provide logistical oversight of on-campus Surveillance Testing Program which includes providing assistance to students/employees registering with the laboratory facility, collecting samples, and submitting completed test kits.
  • Refer students and employees to local testing or vaccination sites and medical evaluation and treatment, as needed.
  • Process and safely store student and employee COVID-19 diagnostic test results and vaccination cards in compliance with relevant privacy regulations.
  • Respond to reports of non-compliance and complaints of violation of the COVID Safety Plan; communicate observations and concerns to the NYFA COVID-19 Response Task Force members.
  • Establish plan to communicate with supervisors regularly regarding campus COVID-19 safety; notify supervisors of any emerging concerns regarding campus safety.
  • Analyze hazards and develop ergonomic risk assessment for public and non-public areas.
  • Interpret, apply and explain safety and environmental laws, codes and guidelines.
  • Report COVID-19 positive test results to local public health departments; maintain partnership with local public health department and follow public health department directives.
  • Maintain spreadsheet documenting contact tracing communications with students/employees, noting identities of contacts, symptoms reported, diagnostic test results and self-quarantine/ self isolation dates and status.
  • Respond to all emails, sensitively, clearly and accurately, directed to the campus designated COVID-19 email account.
  • Actively participate in weekly meetings of the COVID-19 Task Force.
  • Communicate with the Admissions Team to timely receive and approve COVID-19 vaccination cards of applicants and visitors.
  • Communicate with Housing if and when residents report COVID-19 results, to thwart virus transmission in the student residence halls.
  • Manage the operation of the Isolation room.
  • Other related duties as assigned by the Director of Student Health & Wellness and the Sr Director of Operations & Administration; and by senior management.

KNOWLEDGE AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Basic knowledge of facts regarding coronavirus transmission, best practices to minimize community spread/transmission, and COVID-19 symptoms of concern (including those that warrant emergency attention).
  • Knowledge and understanding of the COVID Safety Plan to ensure proper implementation of guidelines.
  • Knowledge of contact tracing protocols and the rationale supporting all established contact tracing practice.
  • Knowledge of information available through NYFA documents and/or local public health department websites regarding access to vaccination, testing and medical care depending on students/employees insurance coverage or need for free or low cost care.
  • Understanding of guidelines for Self Quarantine.
  • Understanding of guidelines for Self Isolation.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds including students and parents.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and CERTIFICATION:

  • Bachelors Degree in related field. Experience may substitute for required education up to 4 years.
  • 1-2 years administrative experience in a health care setting.
  • Valid competency certificates.
  • Experience working in an higher education, academic setting.
  • Experience working in a fast pace, multi-tasking, results drive environment with attention to detail.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Suite Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint.
