Location: New Orleans, LA

Assists the Assistant Dean for Finance and Senior Accountant with the daily oversight of the financial activity within the School of Public Health & Tropical Medicine. Provides financial management oversight for several departments within the School by updating budgetary information, providing projections, preparing financial status reports, and reviewing financial transaction requests; providing support in the pre-award and post-award sponsored research process. Has authority to approve expenditures. Performs a combination of calculating and verifying duties to obtain financial data for use in monitoring of departmental, and grant & contract accounts in accordance with University and granting agency policies and procedures. Must maintain a working knowledge of applicable funding agency rules and regulations. Assists the Assistant Dean and Senior Accountant with training of department administrators on financial policies and procedures.

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business and 3 years work related experience

• Previous work experience in an academic environment
• More than 3 years' experience with sponsored project administration involving international sites
