Job Description Summary:

The Office of Undergraduate Admission is looking for creative undergraduate student to help manage and create content for their social media accounts. The student social media specialist will assist in content creation, scheduling, and brainstorming innovative ways to connect with and increase the prospective student audience through social media. This position will help manage our Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and TikTok, while keeping an eye out for any new platforms we can utilize. The Student Social Media Specialist may also assist with other forms of media including the collection of photo/video content, creating and editing informational videos, designing flyers, etc. Hours will be conducted mostly independently, 5-10 hours a week, with bi-weekly or monthly meetings.

Specific Duties:

-Create and schedule content for Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and TikTok -Assist in building a monthly content calendar-Monitor channels for comments and messages-Attend Admission events for live posting and to gather future content-Work with supervisor to ensure content maintains the university’s brand guidelines-Brainstorm new ways to connect with and increase our audience-Attend biweekly or monthly meetings set at the beginning of the semester according to student schedule

Good academic standing
Good social standing
Access to mobile device or computer to facilitate content creation and posting

Employees are eligible for the following benefits:

One hour of Paid Sick Leave for every 30 hours worked, with a maximum accrual of 24 hours of Paid Sick Leave per year and capped at 48 hours.

University of La Verne Defined Contribution Retirement Plan – can contribute employee voluntary contributions, excluding wages derived from federal work study funds.

In accordance with the Affordable Care Act (ACA), employees who work an average of 30 or more hours per week, will be eligible for medical coverage through the University of La Verne.
