Job Description:

Export Control Program

  • Review International Visitors to campus, including monitoring of Restricted Party screening processes
  • Review UF faculty and staff activities for compliance with UF, state, and federal export control requirements (activities for review include: proposals, grants, and contracts; material transfer agreements; non-disclosure agreements; international travel; foreign visitors; invention disclosures; etc.).
  • Serve as a liaison between UF Research Integrity, other UF Research units, UF International Center and UF colleges and departments for export control issues.
  • Support exports of UF information or items outside of the U.S.
  • Assist with export control classifications, program recordkeeping, export control training, shipping reviews and filing federal Electronic Export Information paperwork.
  • Understand and remain up-to-date with UF, state, and federal export control and sanctions laws, regulations, and policies.

Export Control Reviews and Auditing

  • Assist with implementing and monitoring Technology Control Plans (TCP), modifications and related export exemptions/exceptions.
  • Support research compliance investigations.
  • Draft policy, guidance, and responsive correspondence supporting research compliance programs.
  • Identifies and tracks Export Control Program metrics.
  • Assist with the content for the webpage and serves as the UF liaison for internal and external audits/reviews of the UF Export Control compliance program.

Other Compliance Duties

  • Maintain a familiarity with UF Research contracting, award negotiation and financial management, including an understanding of 2 CFR 200.
  • Maintain an understanding of regulations governing export controls and global engagement.
  • Collaborate with college and department level faculty, staff and administration to identify and resolve unique issues related to research compliance.
  • Assist in the ancillary reviews of outside activities and agreements that involve research and international activities.
  • Participate in the Division’s special projects, as assigned
Expected Salary:

Commensurate with education and experience.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area and two years of experience in appropriate area; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of ITAR, EAR, and OFAC sanctions and embargoes.
  • Experience understanding complex regulations and applying them in an academic setting.
  • Experience working with university faculty and staff.
  • Research administration or compliance experience in an academic setting.
