Manager, Career Services
Job Description:Career development programming and coordination
- Serve as the primary liaison or point of contact for faculty, academic advisors and staff within HHP.
- Customize programs, services and resources to advance the college/department’s student engagement plan to support the needs of the diverse student body.
- Work in tandem with academic personnel to implement joint initiatives to aid student career readiness and decision making.
- Collaborate with academic personnel to develop selected materials, services and programs (workshops, networking events, etc.) to aid students understanding the range of career paths and employment opportunities as a result of their education and experience with the College.
- Become familiar with the academic programs, notable scholars, academic/industry trends, student organizations, degree tracking process and program requirements for HHP students.
- Attend and participate in HHP meetings/events with faculty, staff, and students to exchange information pertaining to industry connections, career development and student academic success.
- Collaborate with HHP student organizations to provide career development and industry education opportunities, including participation in the HHP Involvement Fair to connect with students and student organizations.
- Coordinate with department stakeholders (academic advisors, undergraduate coordinators, internship coordinators) to pinpoint areas of need when it comes to internship site opportunities and post-graduation job opportunities.
- Establish thorough knowledge of the college and relevant industries to support students and alumni career development.
Engage with Industry Partners
- Initiate, develop, and maintain professional relationships with establishments to create employment and career education opportunities for college specific candidates.
- Coordinate the bi-annual HHP Job and Internship Fairs with virtual opportunities for employers and online students.
- Customize programs, services and resources to advance the College / departments’ industry engagement plan.
- Recruit and engage employers in campus-based and online sessions with students.
Data Collection
- Track, assess, and evaluate efforts within employer outreach, student success and connections within the college.
- Collaborate with departments to maintain and update employer tracking database.
- Provide accurate data collection for student engagement in employment opportunities, experiential learning e.g., internships, shadowing, co-ops, research, new jobs, and volunteer experiences.
Administrative Duties
- Serve on various university and college committees
- Develop and maintain partnerships throughout the University
$45,000-50,000 annual
Minimum Requirements:Master's degree in an appropriate field and two years of experience or a bachelor's degree and four years of related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience working in/with higher education or related settings
Certified Career Services Practitioner (CCSP) or NACE Coaching certification
Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Collaborative partnership skills; must maintain good working relationships with faculty, staff, students and industry partners.
Demonstrated planning, time management and organizational skills
Assessment; ability to review and compile data
Strategic visioning
