Description:

The Department of Mathematics at Tulane University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Computational Applied Mathematics to begin in the fall 2022.  We seek candidates who have established or have demonstrated the potential for a strong record of independent research and are committed to excellence in teaching. The typical teaching load is three courses per year, with a standard reduction to two courses for junior faculty. 

We seek candidates in all areas of computational mathematics, including scientific computation, numerical analysis, and mathematical modeling; particularly, those who will connect with and enhance our department’s current research. 

In all cases, the successful candidates will be expected to (1) develop and carry out a program of research and other scholarly activities; and (2) teach and advise students at the undergraduate, masters, and doctoral levels.

The Mathematics Department faculty at Tulane University consists of 22 tenured/tenure-track faculty members whose interests span a broad range of fields in core and applied mathematics as well as statistics, and 4 Professors of Practice. Please visit us at https://sse.tulane.edu/math.
