1. Facilitates the educational curriculum for the residential students.
2. Works cooperatively with the Director of Residential Life and the Assistant Area Coordinator to ensure active and varied programming of educational, cultural, physical, emotional, social, occupational, recreational, and community service activities.
3. Ensures that the needs of residents, including those of minorities and special interest groups are assessed and that programs are initiated to meet those needs.
4. Manages the Living learning communities and theme housing programs.

1. Provides leadership to staff and students in the development of a community environment. (Floor community, hall community, and connection to the campus community).
2. Provides personal assistance to students through advising, counseling, discipline and crisis intervention.
3. Assists students with issues typical to freshman developmental level (for ex.- transitions in college, relationship issues, etc.).
4. Maintains a high level of visibility by making every effort to get to know residents in the area and attending resident and staff activities.

1. Clearly communicate Residential Life policy to staff and residents.
2. When necessary, assist RA's and GA's in confronting residents who violate policies.
3. Manages the Judicial process for the new residence hall.
4. Conducts disciplinary conferences and apply sanctions when appropriate.
5. Assists with weekday, weekend, evening, and vacation duty coverage of campus.
6. Must be able to respond and work in emergencies on a 24-hour basis.

1. Supervises the Graduate Assistant working as the Assistant Area Coordinator.
2. Supervises 16 Resident Assistants.
3. Assists with the marketing, recruitment, and selection process of Residential Advisors.
4. Assists with the Resident Advisor training program.
5. Assists with the Staff Evaluation program.
6. Acts as a liaison to other campus departments for the Office of Residential Life.
7. Organizes conference and training opportunities for student leaders and Residential Life staff.
8. Represents the Office of Residential Life and the Division of Student Affairs on University Committees and participate fully in professional activities.

1. Participates in regular meetings with both the Director for Residential Life and the Director for Housing.
2. Conducts weekly staff meetings.
3. Attends Senior Staff meetings.
4. Serves on and chair Residential Life committees assigned by the Director of Residential Life.
5. Provides input to decisions regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
6. Keeps professional staff informed about critical issues and concerns in the area.

1. Coordinates the administrative functions in the area, including preparation of weekly reports, key inventories, and timely completion of forms and correspondence under the director of Housing.
2. Assists with check-in, check-out of all residents and coordinates/cooperates with the Director of Housing on all tasks related to assignment of rooms.
3. Assists with maintenance of facilities.
4. Assess the success of Residential Life programs and research/benchmark for the Office.Marginal Job Functions:1. Assists with program preparation and set up when needed.
2. Assists the Director of Residential Life and the Office of the Dean and Associate Dean of Student Affairs in special project assignments.
3. Occasionally attend local, regional, and national workshops and meetings.Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:1. Ability to work late nights and evenings with regularity.
