The Department of Communication Arts in the College of Arts and Humanities invites applications and nominations for the position of Visiting Instructor of Communication Studies for the Spring semester 2022. The home campus for this position will be the Statesboro campus with the possibility of providing support as needed at the Armstrong or Liberty campuses.

Within this setting, the Department of Communication Arts is the largest in the College of Arts and Humanities, and is home to five undergraduate majors: Communication Studies, Multimedia Journalism, Multimedia Film and Production, Public Relations, and Theatre. The Department also offers an interdisciplinary Master of Arts in Professional Communication and Leadership. The Department's mission is to provide students with a broad-based, comprehensive, and interdisciplinary study of human communication. Within Georgia Southern University's culture of engagement, the Communication Arts faculty promote the critical analysis, evaluation, performance, and practice of human communication in its various contexts.
Position Description. Reporting to the Chair of the Department of Communication Arts, the Visiting Instructor requires teaching fifteen credit hours per semester and holding regular office hours. The primary course for the visiting lecturer will be Public Speaking. Supporting general education assessment of the public speaking course is expected. The position is a five-month, non-tenure track appointment, and the salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
