DAPER is looking for a Maintenance Person II to work the swing shift, Tuesday - Saturday from 2pm-10:30pm. The skill level associated with this classification is that which enables incumbents to perform routine maintenance tasks in one trade area within the facility and a minimum of supervision. Employees in this classification typically work within prescribed sets of procedures, but may make independent choices between predefined options. Work may be spot checked while in progress or inspected upon completion. The employee may work alone, as a member of a crew (with or without lead responsibility), or under general supervision or a journey level worker or supervisor.

Your responsibilities will include:
Plumbing repair and/or maintenance:
  • Repair faucets, toilets, basins, bathtubs
  • Re-install or replace toilets, sinks, garbage disposals
  • Bleed hot water and steam heating systems
  • Assemble small water pipe fittings


Electrical repair and/or maintenance:
  • Repair small electrical appliances
  • Replace electrical switches, outlets and sockets
  • Make electrical hook-ups


Mechanical repair and/or maintenance:
  • Lubricate motors and fans
  • Replace air filters
  • Clean and maintain motors


Swimming pool maintenance:
  • Maintain appropriate chemical levels
  • Clean motor strainers and gutters
  • Clean and repair chlorine and acid injectors


To be successful in this role, you will:
  • Have two years of work experience in the trade; may include time spent as an apprentice or in vocational training, or a combination of equivalent education and relevant experience.
  • Possess ability and knowledge necessary to safely and expeditiously perform maintenance duties of moderate complexity in at least one trade area.
  • A California driver's license is desirable.

This position, along with all DAPER coaches and staff, is responsible for the integrity of Stanford's intercollegiate athletics program and for the reputation of Stanford University. This position is responsible for ensuring that his/her/their involvement with Athletics Department activities maintains the integrity of the University's reputation and does not negatively impact the relationship between the University and its faculty, staff, students and alumni.
