The Department of Education at St. Mary’s University of San Antonio, a Catholic and Marianist university, invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning in the fall semester of 2022.
The department (https://www.stmarytx.edu/academics/department/education/) offers an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education along with 18 teacher certification programs in a variety of content areas and across all grade levels. The department also offers principal certification. It incorporates state-approved standards into its curricula and provides a quality preparation program whereby aspiring teachers, specialists, and administrators can attain State of Texas certification.

The responsibilities of the position include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses; advising and supervising students pursuing teacher and principal certification; working collaboratively with program faculty and public and private schools in the San Antonio area; and performing service, administrative, and accreditation-related tasks as necessary to enhance the quality of the program.
An earned doctorate with an emphasis in Education, Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Leadership, or a related field is required. In addition, suitable candidates must possess teaching and administrative experience in K – 12 schools. Applicants should demonstrate a strong background in effective teaching strategies for diverse populations, ability to create and enhance collaborative partnerships with K-12 school personnel, and strong potential for continued scholarship and professional service.
