The University of Virginia seeks applicants for a Finance Specialist & Program Coordinator to support the Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE): https://cte.virginia.edu/. The Finance Specialist & Program Coordinator will split time in roughly equal measure between two core areas: managing the Center’s financial operations and providing program management support to a range of CTE teaching and learning initiatives.

Primary financial responsibilities include the following:

• Manage day-to-day financial operations of the Center, including tracking expenditures, completing monthly reconciliation, issuing purchase orders, managing labor distributions, and supporting grant activities.

• Support long-term financial planning efforts of the Center, including informing and advising CTE team members on the financial health of Center initiatives and programs; prepare annual budgetary recommendations for Director approval by considering past requirements, past expenditures, present programs, and anticipated programing plans; and creating future budget projections.

Primary program management responsibilities include the following:

• Oversee day-to-day program management activities, including overseeing program application and selection processes, communicating with program participants and facilitators, identifying and reserving space, arranging catering, providing on-site day-of support, and managing CTE space.

• Support long-term program planning activities, including working closely with CTE faculty to determine support needs; developing effective and efficient logistic processes; helping with continuous improvement efforts; improving partner and vendor relations.

Other duties assigned as necessary.

Candidates must possess these minimum qualifications:

• Commitment to supporting the CTE’s commitment to equity and inclusion in all aspects of the work.

• A bachelor's degree with at least three year's experience in financial operations and/or project management (relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree).

• Experience performing financial administration and reconciliation, analyzing financial data, preparing user friendly reports, and explaining complex regulations and policies to a generalist audience;

• Experience managing and supporting complex programs under time and resource constraints;

• Ability to work independently to creatively address the Center’s evolving financial and program management needs;

• Extensive experience with financial accounting software, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Outlook;

• Excellent oral and written communication in daily interactions.

Experience with Oracle, UBI, WorkDay, TravelUVA, ExpenseUVA, Chrome River, Slack, ClickUp, and UVABox is preferred.
