General Summary

This position will perform office support tasks for the Office of Research and Graduate Studies, such as:
- Order office supplies and conference supplies, P-card purchases
- Manage non-academic aspects of workshops, meetings, and conference organization
- Enter vouchers on Colleague
- Maintain website and digital media, create flyers and newsletters
- Generate and send invoices for journal articles (including following up with authors)
- Maintain membership information, invoice, deposit checks
- Serve as inventory steward

Additional Information

Research and Graduate Studies has several units. Some have their own support staff but some do not. Most work encompasses assisting the Associate Vice President, Business Manager, other direct reports, and small centers such as Intercollegiate Biomathematics Alliance, the Office of Student Research, and the Center for a Sustainable Water Future.

Required Qualifications

1. High school graduation or equivalent.

2. One (1) year (12 months) of work experience comparable to the second level of this series.

3. Any one or any combination of the following, totaling two (2) years (24 months) of experience in the categories below:
a. work experience performing office/clerical activities, including use of computer systems
b. college or university coursework in any curriculum
- twelve (12) semester hours = six (6) months
- twenty-four (24) semester hours = twelve (12) months
- thirty-six (36) semester hours = eighteen (18) months
- forty-eight (48) semester hours = twenty-four (24) months

Work Hours

8:00am-4:30pm Monday through Friday

Functional Expectations

Must be able to complete the following with or without a reasonable accommodation:

Founded in 1857, Illinois State University was the first public university in the state and is one of the Midwest’s oldest institutions of higher education.
