The Department of Urology has an exciting opportunity for a Full-time Postdoctoral Associate to work in the UHealth Campus. The Post Doctoral Associate performs scientific research and studies under the supervision of managing staff. Moreover, the Post Doctoral Associate promotes institutional recognition through literal contributions to the scientific community.

  • Investigate and implement automatic segmentation algorithms of organs of interests using deep learning (convolutional neural networks, generative adversarial networks, etc.) in diverse medical imaging modalities like MRI (Diffusion-weighted, T2-weighted, and Dynamic Contrast-Enhanced); Computer Tomography (CT) and Ultrasound.

  • Train and validate deep learning approaches for identifying tumor lesions on diverse medical imaging modalities like MRI, Computer Tomography (CT) and Ultrasound.

  • Develop prediction models for patient outcomes from hybrid databases containing radiographic images and clinical information.

  • Investigate, develop and implement algorithms to extract advanced quantitative imaging features (radiomics) from medical images.

  • Utilize bioinformatics tools for radiomics and genomics analysis.

  • Analyze relational databases to identify trends that relate health habits with future outcomes in prostate cancer using machine learning (random forest, neural networks, clustering, probabilistic classifiers, etc.).

  • Present results at national and international conferences and publish them in high-impact peer-reviewed journals.

  • Comply with all the HIPPA requirements and obtain the approval from IRB before accessing any sensitive patient data.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ph.D. in relevant field

  • No prior experience required

  • Skill in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data.

  • Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.

  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.
