Job Summary Under general supervision of Compliance Manager, responsible for effective interpretation and monitoring of the Georgia Board of Regents¿ policies regarding conflicts of interest (COI) and Georgia Tech’s COI policies, Georgia laws, and federal regulations, and of employee codes of conduct related to conflict of interest. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: Senior management, Georgia Tech faculty, researchers, and staff. This position typically will advise and counsel: Senior management, Georgia Tech faculty, researchers, and staff. This position will supervise: N/A.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -
Review faculty, staff, and researchers¿ financial disclosures for potential conflicts of interest and make an initial determination (based on a review of relevant policy/regulation) as to whether a potential conflict exists.

Job Duty 2 -
Review organization's business practices to ensure pertinent regulations are followed, identify areas of non-compliance, and create a plan to implement changes as needed.

Job Duty 3 -
Support development of training and education programs on all relevant conflict of interest areas.

Job Duty 4 -
Track and interpret laws or regulations impacting the business and offer suggestions to functional managers seeking to ensure compliance.

Job Duty 5 -
Implement policies and procedures meant to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and standards.

Job Duty 6 -
Provide mentoring to Compliance Officers.

Job Duty 7 -
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications Educational Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Experience
Four to six years of compliance, auditing, or other related experience.

Preferred Qualifications Preferred Educational Qualifications
Juris Doctorate or Master’s degree highly preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Experience
Higher education experience.
