Job Summary The Scheller College of Business at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia seeks applications to fill a Postdoctoral Fellow research faculty positions in Computational Finance affiliated with the Financial Services Innovation Lab and Quantitative and Computational Finance program at Georgia Tech. The selected candidate will be advised and supervised by Professor Sudheer Chava; collaborators may include other faculty at Georgia Tech and researchers from a leading asset management firm. The candidate may also be able to get access to some proprietary datasets from the asset management firm as part of the research collaboration subject to appropriate approvals from the asset management firm and Georgia Tech. The applicant will also be expected to contribute to the activities of the Quantitative and Computational Finance Program including conducting some workshops on programming and related topics for students. There is flexibility with regards to the starting date to accommodate the selected candidate. The initial appointment is for one year starting as early as January 1, 2022, and as late as August 1, 2022, and may be renewed depending on mutual consent, satisfactory performance, and the availability of resources.

Required Qualifications Ph.D. in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, Machine Learning, Mathematics, or other relevant quantitative field.

The selected candidate must be able to meet eligibility requirements for working in the United States at the time the appointment is scheduled to begin and to continue working legally for the proposed term of the appointment.

Preferred Qualifications

Preference is for candidates with conferred PhD degree. ABD (All but dissertation) candidates must have successfully defended their dissertation no later than December 1, 2021 for January 2022 start date and/or by July 1, 2022 for an August 1, 2022 start date.

Candidates should have a strong interest in applying the skills listed in the job summary to large data sets in Financial Markets and FinTech.

Proposed Salary This is a full-time, one-year, non-tenure-track research faculty, benefits-eligible appointment with the possibility of an extension. The position includes funds for some conference travel and research expenses. The salary will be competitive and commensurate with skills and experience.
