The Events Administrator Associate, Manager of Event Services is responsible for providing leadership and direction of the Event Services office located in the Morris University Center (MUC). The Manager will direct, supervise, and coordinate staff efforts in providing excellent customer service to internal and external clients; schedule meetings and other special events held in the MUC and Student Success Center (SSC), giving priority to student organizations and University wide events; as well as direct, plan, and coordinate building services such as housekeeping, catering and audiovisual tech staff for these events. The Manager will train staff on the proper use of the event management software (EMS), conduct EMS oversight, maintain communication with EMS Central Administrator, and implement new technology as needed. The selected candidate will oversee pricing structure and revenue reporting for events; develop internal and external client contracts and ensure contractual obligations; serve as primary advisor regarding overall event development and management; and monitor invoices and establish controls to maintain costs within budget limits. During periods of low on-campus activity, the Manager of Event Services will promote event spaces to the general public and work to build relationships with campus and community groups which will support appropriate use of MUC and SSC facilities and resources. Additionally, this position will serve as a representative for the MUC on designated campus-wide committees.

Due to the professional needs of this position as well as the scheduling of special events, occasional evening, weekend, or outside of normal business hours shifts may be required, sometimes on short notice.

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Business Administration, Student Affairs, or a closely related field.
2. A total of one (1) year (12 months) professional work experience in Event Planning, Conference Management, Public Relations, Communication, Marketing, or any other related field.
