- A Master’s degree in Counseling, Human Resources, Student Affairs, Business, or related field.Knowledge of the local area and regional job market/economy.Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with faculty and employers to support outreach, compliance and programming related to internships, mentorships, and other structured student learning experiences.Demonstrated ability to manage student and employer events, such as keynote speaker and panel discussions, career fairs and networking programs.Demonstrated knowledge of the impact of academic major on career development, and the programs and services that ensure successful career development and internship / employment outcomes of academic majors.Direct experience in researching/managing solutions to address the challenges of engaging under-represented college student populations in career development and university recruiting.Demonstrated ability to research industries, occupations, career path development, and student development within higher education.Experience developing and delivering high quality presentations, workshops, and other career focused programming.Demonstrated ability to provide career development-focused advising to students in higher education, and alumni of higher education institutions.Professional experience working within the business field in either higher education, or in related industries.Available to work regularly during evenings and weekends, and to travel.
- Minimum three years relevant experience in higher education career services, professional level career advising/counseling, corporate recruiting, human resources or outplacement, or related position for these industries. An understanding of corporate recruiting practices/protocols and talent management gained through prior business/industry or career counseling/coaching experience.An understanding of job search and process management at the undergraduate level and/or the graduate degree level for business majors.Exceptional organizational skills.Must have the ability to display and maintain positive customer service orientation and strong interpersonal communication skills.Experience communicating effectively and professionally with diverse and changing audiences in person, and via web, print, and other media.Strong presentation skills.Strong writing skills.Working knowledge of career development and employment practices, trends, and challenges.Strong computer and technical skills, including Excel, PowerPoint or Prezi, GoogleDocs, and aptitude for learning new skills.
