Responsibilities
  • Serves as the initial contact and ambassador of the department for students and visitors. Responsible for coordinating office responsibilities including but not limited to: implementing departmental policies and procedures, making recommendations to help make the department run more efficiently, supervise OPS and FWS staff, fulfill recurring administrative tasks within the department, along with sub-departments, specialized centers and institutes within the department.
  • Works in conjunction with the department chair on academic tasks including Drop/Add, class rosters, grade rosters, faculty evaluations, CSM and room scheduling, faculty teaching schedules, FACET, course rosters, textbook compliance, enrollment counts, and curriculum maintenance.
  • Acts as a liaison between departmental faculty and Faculty Development, to facilitate the Promotion and Tenure process, provide counseling and guidance to faculty undergoing and preparing for Promotion and Tenure.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by chairperson or as routinely come up in the academic department. Troubleshooting any problems arising in the department.
  • With the guidance of the chairperson oversees the financial administration of the department to include maintenance and reconciliation of E&G funds, Foundation accounts, sub-department accounts, Research Foundation accounts, travel and Tcards. Directs annual faculty recruitment travel including but not limited to: scheduling, booking travel, coordinating payment/reimbursements, and preparing the on campus interview agendas.
Qualifications High school diploma/equivalency and four years of experience. (Note: or a combination of post-high school education and experience equal to four years.)

  • Experience communicating effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Experience establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
  • Experience gathering, interpreting, reporting, and/or editing information.
  • Experience prioritizing, organizing, and performing multiple work assignments simultaneously.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook or equivalent software.
  • Ability to meet project deadlines.
  • Ability to perform accurately in a detail-oriented environment.University Information

    Anticipated Salary Range

    The anticipated salary range for this position is the low to mid $30,000.00's.
